Ted Powell, the Yankton United Church of Christ (Congregational) co-director of music and organist, explains that this new series of Dakota Prairie Concerts comes out of a long history of the church’s association with excellent music. “We’re beginning our 155th year of worship and service in Yankton, and part of our church life has always been the presentation of great music to all the community and the surrounding area. Our Music Ministry Team, staff, and congregation now are supporting this expansion of our own program into something truly meant for everyone,” he said. “We really want everybody to have the capability to hear quality music for no charge, and we hope that many local and area residents will be able to attend our events.”
